Owner Spotlight: Dennis and Annie Jacobs
Meet Dennis and Annie Jacobs, Clipper City Co-op owners #450. Thank-you for investing in the Clipper City Co-op and in your community!
Tell us a little about yourselves-where are you from, what do you do for a living, any hobbies?
My name is Kris Ann Jacobs, most people know me as ‘Annie’. I have lived in Manitowoc County my whole life- growing up in St. Nazianz, living out on Cedar Lake for a time, moving to the city for 12 years and now enjoying country living in Shoto. We have four adult children, and one amazing little grandson. We rescue Great Danes and currently have two. My husband Dennis recently retired after a career with the Manitowoc Sheriffs Department and I am currently winding down my last 10 years with a “fun” job with Festival Foods. Together, we love remodeling projects, landscaping and I further love gardening and being in the outdoors. Why did you invest in the co-op and become an owner? Dennis and I believe in growing Manitowoc to be a positive, great place to live, and the Clipper City Co-op will truly enhance this area. We were impressed with the amount of pre and long range planning being done to be sure to give it a solid foundation and future. Why do you feel Manitowoc needs a food co-op? A progressive mindset will draw families and business to our area. Featuring local agriculture and products will be a source of pride for our community. Most importantly for me, it’s being involved with a group of like-minded people who have a reason to be excited about a great community project!
