Owner Spotlight: Andrea Menges
Andrea Menges, co-op owner #377, has been to food co-ops in the past and really enjoyed the food and community they offered. She did not realize that there was a group working hard to open a food co-op in Manitowoc until her friend Sarah Evenson, Owner #291, shared the news. That is truly how our co-op will grow and open and be successful, by sharing with others what a co-op is and why we joined. Andrea was so kind to share with us why she became part of the Clipper City Co-op.
Tell us a little about yourself-what do you do for a living?
I have my Bachelor and Masters degree in Social Work and I work at a local Guardianship Agency.
Why did you invest in the Clipper City Co-op and become an owner?
I became an owner of the Clipper City Co-Op because I think it is such a great way to help support our community. Not only that but I know I am getting something fresh and helping those right here.
Why do you think Manitowoc needs a food co-op?
I think this is an important opportunity for Manitowoc to have because it will help the community to grow. I have seen Co-Ops first hand in other cities and see what a wonderful addition they are. Manitowoc has a lot to offer and I think this is just another thing that will make us a stronger community.
